Thursday, March 12, 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET
Please note that this event is open to all (not just CARL institutions).
The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) invites you to an update and opportunity for dialogue with Coalition Publica, the joint project between Érudit and PKP to advance research dissemination and digital scholarly publishing in Canada. In addition to speaking on Coalition Publica’s activities and successes to date, presenters will explore the complementary roles of Coalition Publica and academic libraries’ scholarly communication programs in the Canadian OA landscape.
Find out more about what Coalition Publica can do to boost the dissemination of Canadian journals, and how this can support and amplify library-based publishing. Learn how libraries are contributing to the financial sustainability of Canadian OA journals through the Partnership for Open Access (partnership.erudit.org), complementing their own investments in library-based services for journals. Hear from the team behind Coalition Publica as well as a librarian already participating in the project. There will be ample time for discussion and Q&A, so please bring your questions!
This webinar will be of interest to anyone interested in finding out more about Coalition Publica, and especially to librarians involved with hosting OJS journals in their libraries, or those interested in doing so.
Jessica Clark, Coalition Publica Project Coordinator, Érudit
Jessica Lange, Scholarly Communications Librarian, McGill University
James MacGregor, Associate Director of Strategic Projects and Services, Public Knowledge Project
This webinar will be held in English, but attendees are welcome to pose questions in either English or French. Slides will be made available in both languages.
